Overview
JCI Dhaka East and JCI Dhaka Cosmopolitan are jointly arranging a Mental Health Support Campaign for street children in collaboration with Sukorma Foundation. The number of children with or without family, migrating to the harsh reality of street life, is increasing. The campaign aims to mitigate few of these concerns and help them lead a better life.
A survey has been done on street children in Dhaka city to find the issues they struggle with in daily life. 30 random street children were picked as sample for the survey.
In the first stage of this initiative, we will focus on mental health development of these children. This will include free mental health checkup, counselling and awareness campaign. Later on, we will take other initiatives to rehabilitate these children and give them a better standard of life.
Results
Improved mental health of the targeted 100 street children.
Successful collaboration with NGO to launch the mental health campaign for the street children.
Recommendations
Initiatives to rehabilitate these children and give them a better standard of life.
