Purpose

To help support the families of 100 street children for 1 week.

Overview

Children are our future and as Mother Theresa said, “if you cannot feed a 100, then just feed 1”.
With that motto in mind JCI Dhaka East launched Cheers for Humanity 2.0, an annual project initiative of JCI Dhaka East to help the needy. Through the project our dynamic team led by Local President Eazaz Mohammed distributed 100 special eid gift packages with Eid Clothes, brand new school bags and family size food essentials package to 100 needy children and their families.

The project partnered with FAPA Bangladesh, a local non-profit organization that supports disadvantaged children, youth and their families in rural and semi-urban communities of Sreepur Upazila under Gazipur district.

Actions Taken

1
Prepare a list from the targeted area for distribution of essentials.
2
Identify the essentials required to prepare the support package.
3
Procure the essentials and support package for 1 week

Results

Provided essentials and support for 100 needy families in the pandemic. Had a positive reaffirmation workshop with the street children to teach them the importance of education and acquiring the right skills. Various issues were discussed and a prospective collaboration with FAPA Bangladesh will be looked into.
